I will start saying that this book taught me that our mind takes some actions for us almost all the time even when we don't see it consciously . It is something that happens so naturally. And as the author explains thru the book, there are basically two different path our brain takes.

In the book are made some imaginary character called system 1 and system 2.  The author indicates that this way for describing how the brain works was used, to make it easier to understand and read what the content is all about.
  •  System 1 is the rapid thinking. For example: the way people act to some situations is part of the behavior people show as a result of this part of the brain. When you are ask to sum 2*2 , you rapidly know that is 4.
  • System 2 is the rational thinking. One simple exercise is that if you have to sum 17*56, your brain intermediately knows that it should apply some calculation in order to give the correct response.
For me, reading these simple scenarios was amazing. The examples above were just one of the many practical descriptions that the author made.

Also, there are some psychological aspects the author treats in this book that are interesting to read. For example, the way we communicate because of how we feel. How others can perceive our message. We can make a huge difference just by changing the way we talk.

In conclusion this book is good to understand why some times we make some actions and how to be alert about what we can do to express ourselves better. The brain is the one of the principal parts of our body. All of our activities are done by the orders we give to it. So, is important to know more about it.
